Tsinghua University is a member of the IEEE 1888 Work Group

Through adopting the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 smart energy technologies, the FIT Building of Tsinghua University has reduced its energy consumption by 20% through smart control, data collection, calculation, long-distance operation and visualized operation interface. 

Intel is a member of the IEEE 1888 Work Group

In 2013, Intel issued two kinds of chips – Quark SoC X1000 and Atom E3800, which marked its entry into the Internet of Things. BII is one of the most important partners of Intel in the strategy of the Internet of Things, and the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 Standard will be an essential foundation for the development of the x86 chip in the Internet of Things.

Influenced by the shortage of energies after the earthquake, the University of Tokyo has begun the exploration into the role of the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 Standard in the energy conservation of buildings since 2010. It is also the first institution to apply the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 to actual projects. After implementing the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 Standard, five campuses of the university has reduced energy consumption by 31%. 

As a software enterprise of Baosteel Co., Ltd.,ShanghaiBaosight SoftwareCo., Ltd. was listed in April 2001. With its head office in the Zhang Jiang Hi-tech Park in Pudong District of Shanghai, it is an important software enterprise in national planning. In November 2013, it officially issued an ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 Standard-based comprehensive solution which focused on buildings, tracks, public works, petroleum chemistry, water supply, agriculture, smart transportation and industrial control. Meanwhile, it met all the function demands of data collection, data storage, data display, data analysis and data release.

As a member of the IEEE, the State Grid has an IEEE fellow and eight senior members. It is playing a leading role in the making of four IEEE international standards, namely, the cooperation between overvoltage and insulation of extra-high voltage alternating systems of 1,000kV or above, the on-the-spot experiment standard and system debugging standard of extra-high voltage alternating devices, the voltage and idle standard of extra-high voltage alternating systems, and the testing standard for the access of energy-storing systems to grid devices. The State Grid has made substantial contribution to the development of the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 Standard inChina.
