1.png

Established on 14 November 2013, China Strategic Alliance of Technology and Innovation in Smart Energy Industry (SASE) was jointly initiated by BII and the National Standardized Union of Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction. With considerable support from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Beijing Municipal Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision and the Zhongguancun Administration Committee of National Innovation Demonstration Zone, it is the first strategic union committed to the smart energy industry in China.

Wang Zhongmin, the Director-General of the National Standardized Union of Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, serves as the first director-general of SASE while Liu Dong, the CEO of BII, became the Deputy Director-General and Secretary-General of SASE. There were 33 units in the first group of members, including universities, research institutes, telecommunication operators, energy management companies, device manufacturers and energy user units. There is a secretariat subordinated to the board of directors. Composed of eight deputy secretary-generals, the secretariat has a special work group which finishes work related to publicity, the making of standards, and the popularization of open platforms and application demonstration.

Based on smart energy standards ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 and the open modes of the Internet, SASE aims to make standards, provide an open platform of smart energy, combine traditional vertical industrial chains, offer standardized products and services in all parts of the industrial chains, and promote the integrative development of Next Generation Internet and the undertaking of energy conservation and emission reduction. Through strengthening the sharing of information, it hopes to enhance the exchange and cooperation between two different industries, spur the extensive application of smart energy and achieve collaboration and win-win results. Oriented by demands, SASE relies on its standards, the open platforms of the Internet and the covenant relationship to effectively combine policies, enterprises, universities, research institutions and users and to support its members so that they can give full play to their advantages. Through study and innovation on the key technology of smart energy, SASE grasp core technology and promote international cooperation with IEEE and other Organization for Standardization, and gradually forms a batch of internationally competitive standards. SASE organize members’ investigative smart energy solutions and promote the broadest application of smart energy in worldwide.

Joint Laboratory of Smart Energy

May 28th 2015, Beijing—Today, Intel Corporation and China Strategic Alliance of Smart Energy Industrial Technology Innovation (the Alliance) jointly inaugurated the Joint Laboratory of Smart Energy (Joint Lab) at Beijing Internet Institute, which marks the latest progress made by Intel in enhancing the integration of mobile internet, cloud computing, big data, and internet of things etc. with energy technology to propel smart energy development, in answer to the national development strategy of energy conservation, emission reduction and internet+, in cooperation with partners in the industry. The ceremony was well attended by the representatives from both Intel and the Alliance, who gave an introduction to the plans for cooperation between the two sides in strategic planning, technical support and marketing. Liu Dong, the CEO of BII group and the deputy director & secretary-general of the Alliance served as director of the Joint Laboratory of Smart Energy

The Joint Lab will be facilitated by the software and hardware from Intel and apply the smart energy gateway solutions and the technical fortes of the end-to-end internet of things to integrate, demonstrate and promote the industrial technology and solutions conforming to the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 standard. Meanwhile, the partners, including those in industry, building and other key sectors in society, in the industrial chain also have the access to the front and back end for verification.

The Joint Lab consists of five areas, i.e. demonstration area, exhibition area, display board area, verification area and activity area.

Demonstration area: It is to demonstrate the Intel technology, ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 standard, and practical cases enabled by the smart energy cloud.

Exhibition area: It is to show how the power data is collected through the gateways powered by Intel chips and software and how the data is uploaded to the smart energy cloud for the demonstration and analysis by means of software of visualization.

Display board area: It is to briefly introduce the smart energy from the perspective of Intel, and the solutions to end-to-end energy management, Internet of Things, and energy cloud solutions based on the Intel technology. Meanwhile, it can demonstrate the history of the Alliance, the ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 standard, and the core functions of the smart energy cloud.

Verification area: It is to provide verification service to the partners based on the Intel Technology and ISO/IEC/IEEE 18880 standard in the smart energy industry.

Activity area: It is to provide the place where the Alliance members and Intel partners can have technical exchanges and test their products.

The Joint Lab will actively promote the industrialization of key smart energy products, and the verification service can provide the solutions to the bottom-level data collection and storage. Users choose and install the metering devices, sensors, and gateways verified by the Joint Lab, and then they access directly the energy consumption and sensing data in the smart energy cloud to fast implement the solutions to monitoring energy consumption.

The first year of the internet of energy is 2015. At the beginning of the internet of energy, communications in different fields of industrial circles. The specialists and scholars from government, universities, information and energy fields are able to have equal and open dialogue. In a word, Internet of Energy China Forum is not only a platform of communication, but also a stage of relational enterprises and research institutes to display their achievements.

China Smart Energy Summit

Organized by BII, China Smart Energy Summit is the best smart energy conference in the world, with the hope of advancing the integrative development of two strategic emerging industries in China; energy conservation and environmental protection and new-generation information technology, reinforcing the combination of informatization and industrialization, and driving the development of Chinese smart energy and relevant industries.

In previous summits, top experts got together and the leading figures of global energy and ICT enterprises had high-level dialogues, jointly pushing forwards the application of information and communication technologies in the field of energy and the industrial standardization. By developing the industry through standardization, they have provided strong technological support for objective of energy conservation and emission reduction during China 12th Five-Year Plan Period (2011-2015).
