June 1, 2016, Open Networking Foundation (ONF) and BII signed a cooperation agreement in the field of Global SDNFV Technology Conference, to jointly set up Open SDN Promotion Center (OSPC), to jointly promote the development and establishment of China's Open Network Ecosystem. It is understood that their jointly established OSPC will launch SDN training and examination program of Chinese version.
BII chairman Liu Dong stated at the signing scene that OSPC is a bridge, connecting China and other countries, it will push China to participate in the worldwide open network change, but also will help Chinese enterprises play its leadership role, to comprehensively promote SDN / NFV commercial deployment in the Asia-Pacific region. BII has been actively involved in SDN / NFV standard establishment, its subsidiary Global SDN Certified Testing Center (BII-SDNCTC), a neutral third party SDN / NFV technology evaluation and innovation center, which has assumed test specifications development, certification system construction and testing tools research and development work in a plurality of international standard organizations, while providing authoritative and neutral testing and certification services all around the world, promoting technological products improvement and product interoperability. Establishment of OSPC will provide more diversified local services for enterprises in Asia-Pacific region.
ONF executive director Mr. Dan Pitt said at the scene: "Chinese enterprises have laid enormous investment in the open network industry, including areas such as SDN and NFV, and have made respectable and remarkable achievements. China has gradually grown into a world leader in the field of SDN. Meanwhile, ONF admires BII’s enormous influence in the industry, and hopes to get a deeper understanding of China's ongoing industrial change by virtue of the OSPC, and to participate in it, so as to jointly promote continued development and application of open network in China. At the same time, based on the rapid development of open network in China, in spring 2017, ONF might take Member Workday out of Silicon Valley for the first time"
It is learned that ONF Member Workday is held twice a year, it is a grand meeting for global open network researchers and practitioners. ONF Member Workday to be held in Beijing in spring 2017 will last nearly a week, through testing activities, conference, hackthon and other forms of aggregation. Chinese and the world open network industry will be promoted to deepen.
